Happy hump day people. This week has been straight up crazy with all of the Mother’s Day preparations and luncheons I’m attending. The weather has been nice and sunny lately, which keeps me in a good mood; and I have been enjoying the natural scenery outside. I put on this outfit with that just in mind, kind of blending into the background. This vintage leather skirt was a super find and it is Pantone’s color of the year, radiant orchid, score! Hello my friends!! I am so excited for this week to be over because this Saturday is Spring Formal! I have tried on so many dresses but have narrowed it down to these 5. I knew I wanted a short dress but I was open to color and style. My fam pushed a pink dress but I feel like I wear that color a lot so, maybe not for my first dance. I’ll be making my ‘formal decision’ tomorrow so next week’s post will have the dress I chose! Have a great week and don’t forget about all of the great Moms on Sunday! I’ve been living in these boots for the last two weekends and I have to share how much I love them. Boots are definitely a favorite of mine and I was lucky enough to get to style two looks for shoe company, DUO. I have really slim calves and I am constantly missing out on knee high boots because the “average” calf size is too big for me. This company shows you how to measure your feet and calves for precise fit and comfort, so each pair is custom fit for you. This makes for a more polished look whether you’re wearing them in the office or for a night out on the town. As a teen in the 90’s, that decade has a huge influence on my wardrobe. I constantly am buying graphic tees, plaid over sized shirts and you guessed it, overalls. While I was tempted to pop a shoulder and really bring it back for you guys,hello NKOTB, I choose to keep it all together with my white knit sweater. Even though we’re heading into the summer months, this top isn’t heavy or too warm at all. The loose weave keeps it super easy breezy! It’s almost Friday! Thanks for checking in!
Hey guys! Ready for summer, you ask?! I sure am. These last few weeks have been crazy with our Spring Formal preparations. I feel like I’ve tried on 100 dresses and even more pairs of high heels. So when I got ready this weekend, feeling like I really wanted to wear my jammies all day, I slipped on these uber soft pants I found at Target. They are lightweight cotton and you guessed it, incredibly soft! They felt so good on my legs. This outfit reminds me of long, hot and humid, sunny days at the water park and beach vacations. These will be on permanent rotation as soon as school gets out. Have a relaxed week.

Welcome back to the work week everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I’m heading downtown this morning for some meetings and then hopefully catch a power lunch with an old friend. I try and schedule my appointments and meetings for the first few days of each week. I’m lucky to have a pretty good amount of control over my schedule so I tend to do what works best for me. Although, because of so many events in the evenings and on weekends, I do find myself working well over a typical 40 hour work week, it gets exhausting! This jewel toned outfit was inspired by the fickle weather. I’m still not used to the humidity here so after I popped on this long sleeved blouse, there was no way I could get on long pants too! I added my favorite pair of shorts and topped it with my tweed jacket. Business on the top. Have a wonderful week!

I love dressing up for special occasions and especially stepping outside of the “norm”. Brunch this weekend I picked this lace dress in ivory. With all of the brightly colored easter eggs, baskets and formal dress shopping (more on that later), I was burnt out and wanted to keep my outfit in the neutral zone. I originally had on bright pink wedges but quickly changed my mind and stuck with my theme. Sometimes I just feel like, staying neutral.

Hello Monday! I hope everyone had a great long weekend and enjoyed it as much as I did! I recently went browsing through the back of my closet and came across these awesome bermuda shorts. Now, I usually steer clear from any type of “Mom” dressing but these long shorts are too damn cute. The metallic detail inspired me bust out my glittery heels for my lunch meeting that day. I love working in fashion so much cuz showing up in sparkly shoes with accented silver shorts is just another day at the office for me. Have a great week my friends.
