Teen talks with Taylor. Tay said this could have been my Halloween costume because I look like a sailor, lol. So A’hoy! We’re fast approaching midway through senior year and while I’m thrilled with delight that we almost have another school year down yet; the planning for graduation, college, the holidays and senior trip are all coming all too fast! I am trying my hardest to stay organized and keepin clear communication with Tay about grades, app deadlines and essay progress. I can’t believe how crazy this year has been already. As we chug along, I want to stress the transparency in our relationship. I can’t help, if I don’t know. I have always tried to stress to Tay the importance of keeping us, her parents, in the loop. We may not need to know everything, but we need to know that major stuff. Grades, driving, causing trouble. We have always had Tay’s back and as long as we know whats going on, we are able to stand as a united front to any type of adversary. Luckily, we haven’t had to many issues with the law (knock on wood) or Tay’s counselor, but I want to give weight to the importance of having that shoulder to lean on. It may not be your parents but try and find that person/ preferably an adult so you are able to have that individual in your corner- with bail money, HA! I kid. And if not, anyone will do, as long as you trust them. Just my 2 cents from going from teen mom to raising a teen. 🙂
Have a happy week, fiends!
